THE X STAGE-LIGHT DESIGN

WHERE THE INSPIRATION CAME FROM?

In 1968, Elvis Presley was the first to perform with the large ’ELVIS’ stage-light red banner for his ’68 Comeback Special TV show’. At the end of the ’60s, this simple but innovative scenery idea was considered one of the most iconic visual elements complementing the whole musical performance of an artist.

In 2002, the already pop-chart-dominating Robbie Williams performed his TV special, a music-entertaining ’The Robbie Williams Show’, with the large Elvis-inspired ’RW’ stage-light banner built in a similar red scenery pattern. According to Robbie’s words, the whole design was his respectful nod, wiggle, and an honor-giving to his music idol mentioned, Elvis Presley.

Inspired by the king of rock’n’roll, a unique Austrian new wave pop artist Falco released his fourth studio album ’Emotional’ in 1986. With the large red ’FALCO’ stage-light banner captured on the album’s cover, he showed his admiration for Elvis.

Following the steps of musical giants, Xtravagant’s idea to build the ’X’ symbol in this fancy stage-light scenery shows his sincere admiration and respect. As he says: “Inspire, get inspired“, the whole inspired design is meant to be an honor-giving manifest for his pop music heroes.
