Xtravagant looking back: “When I was a kid, shyness took over me all the time, and it held me back from showing what I could do, even to the closest people around me. And when I tried to show it, I couldn’t show it enough. So only a few people told me then that what I could do was a gift. I didn’t know why they were saying so. Now I realize that even though I was not showing much, such encouragement was very kind of them. I am very grateful for that cause I know there are way more talented musicians than me. I’ve been only expressing myself with every work I’ve done, and I don’t consider that as super art talent. Only my imagination and vision turning into reality is the key enabling me to do it. I still feel like a guy who does nothing more than he only can.“
Watching and precisely observing his musical idols already in his childhood, young Filip had hoped for some more severe connection to music ever since. But, while subtly and irregularly playing simple melodies on a piano, only a few could see him, back in the day, as a future music artist. The idea of expressing through music came to Filip’s teenage mind during his high school studies. Still too shy to sing, but with the ambition being born, he asked his classmate, a producer then, to co-produce one hip-hop beat. By the end of 2013, the beat was done.
Later, he figured out his performing name thanks to his raw, extravagant image, eccentric look, and cheeky teenage behavior. Finally, during the summer of 2016, then-21-year-old inexperienced artist Xtravagant wrote his first Slovak rap lyrics. Then, he recorded his first-ever song using the mentioned beat.
