With music composed by himself, the melody is inspired by a Slovak alternative rock song ’Ja Som Ten Čo Hrával s Dežom’ by Jaro Filip. The result was then arranged, with little help from his songwriting partners, into a synthpop, a bit of a synth-rock sound. The single’s title indicates that its Slovak lyrics are metaphorically poetic but very sincere indeed. ’Mesačná Metafora’ (eng. ’Lunar Metaphor’) is a poem and an honest confession about the necessity of battling drug addiction and settling down from wildly mad rock’n’roll parties back to the substance-clean life.
Xtravagant says: ”The song’s about realizing that my overly hedonistic lifestyle crossed all the boundaries of recklessness towards myself and my loved ones too. At that point, some of my self-preservation appeared and told me that I had to change my life and myself in it. One could say I found myself with no other option to do. So I went through an ambulatory addiction rehab, and I changed my life, although it wasn’t easy at all. And that’s what I’m singing about in this tune.”
The music video, with a little cameo of his girlfriend Mary, pictures Xtravagant’s inevitable self-recovery, followed by his authentic performance in the fashionable blue leather jacket.
”I’m clean, I’m happier, and I’m healthier. It may sound paradoxical to some, but self-controlled protection and a constant drug avoidance make me feel more free than ever before. The addiction is like being in prison.”, he adds.
